Robert Gelbard is currently Chairman of Washington Global Partners, LLC. Previously he was the United States Ambassador to Indonesia. A Colby alumnus (’64) he received his MPA from Harvard in 1979. He joined the foreign service in 1967, after serving in the Peace Corps in Bolivia. Among his many prestigious postings he has held the position of principle deputy assistant secretary of state for Inter-American Affairs, Assistant Secretary of State for International Narcotic and Drug Enforcement, Ambassador to Bolivia, and Special Representative for President Clinton on the implementation of the Dayton Accords.
